Paula Ruth Holland, age 77, of Alma, Michigan passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her family. Paula was born on June 28, 1940 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Joseph and Fern (Raymond) Sagamall. She grew up in Mt. Pleasant, lived in Shepherd and moved to Alma ten years ago. She retired from Central Michigan University after working for twenty-two years in clerical work. She enjoyed sewing and reading and was a volunteer for MidMichigan Medical Center-Gratiot Auxiliary for many years and also for the Isabella Child Development Center Thrift Store and the American Red Cross.
Paula is survived by her two daughters: Kelly and Jerry Masley of Alma and Amy and Craig Cogswell of Mt. Pleasant. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Emily, Evan and Eric Masley and Aubrey and Dylan Cogswell. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Toni, grandson Charles Cogswell and both parents.
A service celebrating Paula’s life will be held today, Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Rowley Funeral Home with Rev. James L. Amstutz of the East Superior Christian Church in Alma officiating. Friends and family will gather on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Paula will be interned at Memorial Gardens Cemetery following the funeral service. The family has asked for memorials in Paula’s memory be made to the MidMichigan Medical Center-Gratiot Auxiliary or the Isabella Child Development Center Thrift Store.
